Snapchat
•There is a part of snapchat called “My eyes only”
•It is protected by a 4 digit passcode
•Don’t be fooled: generally, the young person will know this code as they have to create the code themselves when setting the account up.
•This is the part of Snapchat which is normally used to hide things.
•On WhatsApp at the top of messages there is a box that says “archived”.
•This will open a hidden menu of chats that are not displayed on the main message screen.
•Messages can still be sent and received while the chat is archived and is often a place people hide messages they don’t want to be seen.
Hidden photos on iPhones
•On iPhones when on the albums menu on the photos app.
•Scroll to the bottom of the page and there are two items:
–One being deleted items
–And the second being an album called hidden.
•These are protected by either face id or a password.
•The passcode is the same as the passcode to unlock the phone.
•This is another place young people often hide things.
Hidden apps on iPhones
•On iPhones, continually swipe to the left
•After scrolling off the last page of apps you will come across a long list called app library
•This shows all apps on the phone including ones that are not displayed on the home page.
Hiding apps
•There are apps mainly ones disguised to look like a calculator
•These are hidden file apps
•When a specific passcode is typed in to the calculator screen, the app will reveal its true face and will display the files.
