Learning Support is here to provide additional assistance, guidance, and study support to students whose unique needs may impact their ability to learn or make progress.
If you require extra help with your studies, the Inclusive Learning Team’s specialists will work with you to assess your learning requirements, discuss the best ways to meet them, and, with your consent, share this information with relevant staff members.
We encourage you to speak with us at our open events, interview evenings, and enrolment sessions in late August – the sooner, the better! If you feel you need time or support to adjust and become familiar with us before starting the course, reach out as soon as you decide Shooters Hill Sixth Form College is the right place for you, and we’ll be happy to assist.
We offer advice and support for students with:

Cognition and Learning – Including those with Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), global delay, and specific learning difficulties like Dyslexia.

Communication and Interaction – Supporting those with communication challenges, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Developmental Language Disorder (DLD), and Speech, Language, and Communication Needs (SLCN).

Social and Emotional Needs – For students with conditions such as Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and mental health needs.

Physical and Sensory Needs – For students with vision impairment (VI), hearing impairment (HI), or multi-sensory impairments (MSI).
If you have previously received help through an Education Health Care Plan, please contact your local authority to ensure they are aware you are considering coming to our college.
