Welcome to Shooters Hill Sixth Form College's A-Level Programmes dedicated to encourage students to Aspire, Perform and Excel.
At SHC we have created a vibrant and diverse community, where valuing others, including their beliefs and attitudes, is central to college life. We have a strong culture of respect and tolerance, where students are confident to be themselves.
Our teachers have high expectations of students as young adults, and we strive to ensure that all our students have a positive experience of learning at the College. Our teachers, as expert practitioners, continually seek to develop their practice and to equip learners with the skills they need to learn independently.
Our A level students have access to excellent resources, housed in the APEX (Aspirational Pathway to Excellence) building. Students benefit from their own common room, study space and library in addition to all the other college facilities.
Students will develop a variety of wider skills that will prepare them for Higher Education, Degree Apprenticeships and the world of work. SHC has a very strong tutorial and academic support provision, supported by our Head of Year 1 and Head of Year 2. Our wide-ranging enrichment and sports offer enables students to engage in extra-curricular activities and to benefit from a wide variety of educational visits and external speakers, giving students the chance to learn new skills, meet fellow students and become a valued member of our SHC community.
As part of our commitment to continuous improvement, we ensure that students have a voice. We frequently seek students’ views on all aspects of study and learning as this helps us to improve professionally and ensures that all learners have the opportunity to achieve their potential.

Every year we send a high number of our students to universities all over the country.
We have a 100% positive destination rate and a 95% university progression rate.
Careers
We have a dedicated employability team who work with students to secure great work experience opportunities while they are with us, and even better career options when they leave us.
Celebrating Success at SHC
We recognise our students' achievements with a yearly award show. Students, parents and teachers come along to share their success stories and bid farewell to those departing to university.
Student Successes - Valentine's Story
“I studied A-Levels, including London Institute of Banking and Finance. My time at Shooters Hill Sixth Form College has been great, I received a Distinction* in every exam/assignment and have been accepted into Oxford University to study Law. I thank Shooters Hill Sixth Form College for their support through my journey and my advice for the next generation would be to get your head down from the 1st year, teachers are your friends, not your enemies.”
Here are some of the universities we work in collaboration with:
Extended Project Qualification (EPQ)
What is the Extended Project Qualification?
The Extended Project is a chance for students to complete a research project on a chosen subject, usually presented in a written report of approximately 5,000 words.
What is the EPQ worth?
The EPQ is equivalent to an AS level, allowing students to further increase their UCAS points.
