Christmas Bonanza

Shooters Hill 6th Form College Christmas Bonanza: A Festive Celebration for a Great Cause

The Christmas Bonanza was a joyful gathering of staff and students, uniting for a day packed with fun, creativity, and holiday spirit. The event not only celebrated the festive season but also aimed to support a worthy cause, with all proceeds going to Great Ormond Street Hospital.

One of the highlights was Santa Claus himself, who welcomed students to his grotto for photos and holiday cheer. For those seeking a thrill, the snowboarding machine offered a chance to test their balance and see who could stay on the longest. Adding a playful twist, the “Naughty or Nice” wheel gave participants a spin of fate, rewarding them with sweets—or the less fortunate treat of Brussels sprouts!

The Christmas market was a hub of activity, showcasing the diverse talents of students. Construction students impressed visitors with beautifully crafted wooden birdhouses, while Hair and Beauty students provided festive face painting. Meanwhile, the sports team got competitive spirits flowing with a rowing competition. Staff also joined in the giving spirit by contributing exciting raffle prizes to help raise funds.

Adding a touch of heartfelt sentiment to the event, students participated in creating an Empathy Tree, where they penned thoughtful messages and warm wishes for the children at Great Ormond Street Hospital.

The day was a true celebration of community, creativity, and compassion. We managed to raise a whopping £250! Thank you to everyone that supported.
