Absnt Mind at SHC

Supporting Students' Welfare and Wellbeing at Shooters Hill Sixth Form College

Michelle Fante, Head of Welfare and Wellbeing, arranged for Absnt Mind to visit our Sixth Form College to support student wellbeing. During their visit, the band discussed various mental health topics, including common causes like school stress and relationships, and shared personal experiences with mental health challenges. They spoke about their struggles with body image growing up and offered insights into how they coped. The band also addressed the stresses of recent years, including feelings of loss and how to better manage uncertainty and hardship. Additionally, they provided advice on staying safe online, discussed cyberbullying and trolling, and shared their own experiences with online harassment, how they felt, reacted, and the eventual outcomes.
