Football Academy with Level 7 Academy
Our Football Education Academy provides both male and female students the opportunity to be a part of a full-time football programme, whilst studying for their chosen profession here at Shooters Hill Sixth Form College.
The football element, which is run by Level 7 Academy, is a performance-based programme that aims to push the players in to professional and semi-professional football and will be based at Meridian Sports training facility.

WHO ARE Level 7 ACADEMY
Level 7 academy provides a platform that creates a professional football and learning experience for young people that want to progress to the next level both on and off the pitch.
Their bespoke programmes offer a full time training provision as well as experiences, opportunities and insight into a variety of industries. We pride ourselves on being more than just a football programme, with our 2–3 year provision that helps shape the futures of our student athletes at the crucial age of 16-19 years old.
Offering a very professional training provision, the emphasis is on success over participation, and students interested in applying for this must be serious to develop both as a student, and as a player.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
You must pass a football trial to be accepted in to the Academy.
Academic entry requirements will be based upon your chosen study option and can be found on this website. Again, although not essential, students with GCSEs in both English and Maths will be preferred.

Please note: subjects outside of this list may still be available; however, they may come with some clashes to our training provision, so they will be dealt with on a individual basis.

TRAINING PRINCIPLES
Our training provision is one that rivals those of professional football clubs.
Our structure has been developed over time, and with the experience of the staff you will be working with, it has proved a solid base for our players to excel from.
Those successful at trial will benefit from the following;
- 3 training sessions per week, plus games on a Wednesday afternoon.
- Experienced staff.
- Qualified Physiotherapists present at ALL training sessions and games.
- The latest technology in heart-rate monitoring and GPS tracking during fixture and training.
- Recorded fixtures.
- Access to Hudl for video analysis.
- Masterclasses from past and present professional footballers.
- Gym-based strength & conditioning sessions.
- Swimming pool for injury rehab and recovery.
- Access to Nike events.
- Fixtures against professional U18/U21 teams.
- Discounted rates for American Scholarships.
All football training will take place at Meridian Sports (Charlton Park Ln, London SE7 8QS).
Note: The venues are only 1.1 miles apart (21 minute walk, 4 minute drive)

Since 2012, The EDSV Academy have achieved 11 league titles, and seen over 70 players move in to professional and semi-professional football, as well as 12 make international appearances.
MALES: Tommy Dixon-Hodge (Ross County FC), Nick Thompson (Stevenage Borough FC), Kaine Wright (CS Maritimo), Ty-Rese Paul-Jones (Grimsby Town FC), Lewis Hobbs (Hendon FC), Joe Hankins, Joe Newton, Luke Oswick, Dan Gallin (Royston Town FC), Wilson Chingoka (Lewes FC), Luke Warner-Eley (Farnborough FC) +26 others at Step 3/4/5 of Non-League football.

Rugby Academy with Roebucks Rugby Academy
Launching this September is our partnership with the Roebucks Rugby Academy. This initiative will provide our male students the opportunity to take part in an elite rugby programme (both training and playing matches).
The rugby element, which is run by The Roebucks Academy, is a performance-based programme that will take place at the training base in Eltham, as well as some sessions on site here at SHC.

Who are the roebucks rugby academy
The Roebucks Academy was founded in 2020 to provide a professionally run rugby programme within a small network of further education establishments in the borough of Greenwich.
Players will be worked with closely to help them fulfil their potential both in the classroom and on the pitch.
The programme ensures players are looked after and developed both on and off the pitch with training delivered by an elite coaching team.
Offering a very professional training provision, students interested in applying for this must be serious to develop both as a student, and as a player.
Entry Requirements
There is a maximum of 25 male spaces available for the Rugby Academy in 2021. Whilst previous playing experience is not essential, players with a good attitude and who demonstrate athletic potential will be prioritised.

- Qualified Physiotherapists present at ALL matches.
- Recorded fixtures.
- Masterclasses from past and present professional players.

- Fixtures against fellow U18 teams.
Team training will take place at Colfeians Sports Club (Eltham Road, SE12 8UE). Transport to be provided.

Our Basketball Education Academy provides both male and female students the opportunity to be a part of a full-time basketball program, whilst studying for their chosen profession here at Shooters Hill Sixth Form College.
The basketball element, which is operated by Dynamic Coaching, is a performance-based program that aims to push the players in to semi-professional basketball and will be based at here at Shooters Hill College.

The Dynamic coaching was founded in 2022 but has been operating as Cray Wanderers Community Scheme since 2010. During our 12 years of operating we have managed to build a strong reputation and strong links with schools and colleges across the boroughs of Greenwich & Bromley.
