Welcome to the SHC Wellbeing Centre

Shooters Hill Sixth Form College recognises that mental health and wellbeing is a growing concern and therefore has a team of staff dedicated to promoting and supporting mental health.

The College aims to provide a supportive, inclusive environment and is therefore proactive in its approach. Workshops and courses are run for students with anxiety and stress and events are organised to raise awareness.

In order to maintain continuity and to provide support structures within the College for students diagnosed with mental health problems, the College works closely with organisations such as Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) and outreach services.

Pastoral Wellbeing Tutors

This team is responsible for your pastoral education and personal growth. They will coach you through life's lessons and provide materials and activities to help you engage with the ever-changing world.

Student Services

Student services are here to provide students with out of class support. If you need anything at all you can always pop in to their office on the 3rd floor of the main building and someone will be there to help.

Mental Health First Aiders

If you really need some mental health support or have a touch of anxiety or just need a place to chill out, you can call one of the team and they will help to support you.

Counselling

We have a visiting trained counsellor available to give individual help to students with work-related or personal concerns that they prefer to discuss in confidence. Counsellors can also give information about other organisations that help with a variety of problems. We actively encourage students to disclose any concerns either before they join the college or whilst a student, so that we can provide appropriate support.
